Update on Corps of Engineers Building Status

The Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the General Services Administration (GSA) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement for, and are in the process of, moving forward to make planned improvements to the Federal Building at 502 Eighth Street in Huntington, W.Va.

Plans call for GSA improvements to be made to the federal building to increase energy efficiency.  At the same time, the Federal Building will be brought into compliance with the Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for security requirements.

The work will be accomplished in a partially occupied building.  During construction activities, the majority of Corps employees will remain in the Federal Building while the work is being completed. Most construction will be performed at night to minimize impacts to the work force.

As details are worked out, further updates will be provided. For more information contact the Public Affairs Office at 304-399-5353.
