Historic Vessel Moving Up the Ohio River

Here’s something to watch for on the river: an LST-325.

It’s a restored troop landing ship that was used in the D-Day invasion. It’s heading up the Ohio River right now. The photo shows the ship locking through Meldahl Locks and Dam at 4:45 am, Aug 23.

As I write this, the ship has just passed through Greenup Locks and Dam. If you’re along the river, watch for it!

You can follow its progress by clicking on the “Live Tracking” link at the ship’s home Web page: http://lstmemorial.org/.
